About Plumb
01What is Plumb?+
Plumb is a systematic documentation review layer for shop drawings and fabrication packages.
You upload a PDF, and Plumb reviews every sheet for common drawing errors organized across 14 review categories. Your team receives a marked-up PDF and Excel comments log identifying potential issues before the package moves downstream.
Plumb works alongside your existing QA process. Your team reviews the findings and makes the final decisions.
02Does Plumb replace our designers, detailers, reviewers, or engineers?+
No.
Plumb adds another systematic review pass to your existing process. It does not replace your designers, detailers, internal reviewers, Professional Engineer, or Engineer of Record.
Anything requiring engineering judgment is explicitly flagged [PE] PE-Review-Required for review by the appropriate licensed design professional.
03Do you stamp drawings or provide engineering sign-off?+
No.
Plumb provides documentation review. We do not stamp drawings, issue structural opinions, certify code compliance, or provide engineering sign-off.
Findings requiring engineering judgment are flagged [PE] PE-Review-Required rather than answered by Plumb.
The Review
01How accurate is the review?+
No review process identifies every issue, and Plumb does not claim 100% capture.
Plumb's advantage is consistency. Every sheet receives the same structured review across 14 review categories, regardless of package size, deadline, or time of day. For every package:

- ·The same review framework is applied consistently.
- ·Findings are graded by severity so your team can prioritize what needs attention.
- ·Items requiring engineering judgment are isolated and flagged [PE] rather than guessed at.
Plumb may not identify issues that depend on undocumented knowledge of your shop's specific practices, require engineering calculations to determine, or depend on information that is not contained in the submitted documents. Those decisions remain with your team and the appropriate licensed professionals.
02What if Plumb misses something?+
Plumb is an additional review layer, not a replacement for your existing review process. Your team remains responsible for reviewing the drawings and determining the appropriate response to each finding.
Structural adequacy, engineering judgment, and code compliance remain the responsibility of the appropriate licensed professionals and authorities.
03What does Plumb check?+
Plumb reviews every sheet across 14 review categories:

04How fast is turnaround?+
Back within 24 hours. Very large or complex packages can take longer.
05Can I dispute a finding?+
Yes. Flag the finding right in the online viewer, or reply to the review-ready email with the finding number and your reasoning. We'll review and reissue the deliverable if appropriate.
Files & Deliverables
01What file formats do you accept?+
Plumb accepts PDF documents. Most common design and detailing platforms, including Tekla, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit, and Inventor, can export directly to PDF. Multi-sheet PDFs are supported.
02Does Plumb work with drawings exported from Tekla, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Revit?+
Yes. Plumb reviews the PDF output rather than the native CAD or modeling file, so the originating software generally does not matter.
For best results, submit a text-searchable PDF or a high-resolution scanned drawing package.
03What counts as one sheet?+
One page in the submitted PDF counts as one sheet. For example, a 47-page PDF is considered 47 sheets regardless of the individual drawing sizes contained in the file.
04What if my drawings are hand sketches?+
Plumb is designed primarily for production drawings and formal drawing packages. Hand sketches can be reviewed, but the quality of the findings may be lower when handwriting, image quality, or document structure makes the information difficult to interpret.
05What do I receive after a review?+
Every completed review includes two files, plus an online viewer:
- ·Marked-up PDF: your submitted drawings with numbered finding bubbles, severity indicators, [PE] PE-Review-Required flags, and supporting finding details.
- ·Excel comments log: a structured list of findings that can be filtered, sorted, assigned, discussed, and incorporated into your existing QA workflow.
- ·Online viewer: every sheet with its findings, where you can mark a finding helpful or not, flag one for a person at Plumb to look at, or remove it from your report.
Security & Confidentiality
01Do you train AI on our drawings?+
No. Drawings are processed through Anthropic's commercial API, which does not train on API data per Anthropic's API terms.
02What happens to my drawings after I upload them?+
Source drawing files are automatically deleted from Plumb-controlled storage 30 days after upload, and finished deliverables 90 days after delivery. Your files are stored privately and access is restricted to your account.
03What about confidential drawings or an NDA?+
We treat drawing packages as confidential information. If your client or project requires a signed NDA before documents can be provided to a vendor, contact us at hello@plumbreview.com before uploading the package. Government-classified work is not supported.
Plans & Billing
01How is a single package priced?+
Anytime Review is $25 for 10 sheets, then $2.00 per additional sheet. The total is priced from the page count before you pay, and nothing is billed afterward. No subscription.
02Can I switch plans?+
Yes, and either direction takes effect immediately: Stripe prorates the change, and the difference appears as a charge or a credit on your next invoice. You see the prorated amount before you confirm. If you need help changing your plan, email hello@plumbreview.com.
03What is the Anytime Review money-back guarantee?+
If you're trying Plumb for the first time, the Anytime Review gives you a way to evaluate the review on your own drawings without committing to a subscription.
If you're not satisfied with your first review, email hello@plumbreview.com within 14 days of purchase for a full refund. One per customer.
