Structural Steel
Beams, columns, connections, weldments. Built for AISC and AWS workflows.
Structural steel packages live and die on weld and connection clarity. Plumb checks every weld symbol against the schedule and flags missing size, length, or finish callouts.
Specific to structural steel.
Every package gets the 14 base categories. These are the additional checks Plumb applies to this trade.
- 01Weld callout completeness (AWS D1.1 symbol set)
- 02Slip-critical bolt connection detail
- 03Member size vs schedule consistency
- 04AISC standard references and edition years
- 05Splice details and field-weld locations
What these checks catch.
Bolt size conflict at grid C-4 — 3/4" in the detail, 7/8" in the connection schedule. Slip-critical joint; the wrong order stops erection.
Stiffener weld symbol missing length and pitch — continuous vs intermittent left to the welder.
Camber on beam line B-12 shown in inches on plan, millimeters in the cut list — same value, mixed units.
